Last night, my boss treated the entire office to a buffet. Well, it was about time because it has been quite a long time since he did this not to count the Christmas party we had last year wherein he paid for everything.
I really thought it would be an excellently wonderful evening. We were going to be treated by our boss. A buffet may sound simple but everyone loves free food, which was why everyone at the office was in high spirits. He also chose a great place – with great food and comfortable atmosphere. Unfortunately, the “would be the excellently wonderful evening” was made embarrassing by a co-worker of mine.
Actually, it wasn’t that bad. But several of us wished he didn’t have to do those embarrassing things. While eating he jokingly complained a lot about the food not being perfect. The ribs were too salty. The soup was bland and taste like snot. The stir-fried noodle was dry. And many other complains. It was embarrassing, especially since other customers were able to hear him mutter.
It even became more embarrassing when he began with his funny childish antics and outburst of stupidity. Like a child, he took one of the balloons and started playing with it. After that, he started playing with the toothpicks and table napkins, then the glasses and the straws. He did them all, while other customers and employees could see us.
Worst of all, he began to flirt with some university students using my name. WOW! Afraid to use his own identity much!
But am I annoyed with this. No. To be honest, even though what he did was embarrassing, it was fun to be honest.
Man, this is just disgusting. I don’t know what to say to this woman. It is either she is crazy or just plain dumb. I can understand that dogs are important part of our family and that we love them, which is why we care for our pet dogs, groom and clean them. But that doesn’t mean she should clean her dog’s poop on a public drinking fountain. Come on! That is a drinking fountain for F”k’s sake! People drink there! This woman deserves to be whacked in the head!
Seriously, dog poop is dirty! It is full of bacteria! And using the drinking fountain as bidet would mean leaving lots and lots of bacteria that may cause sickness to any unwary jogger, kid or person who would drink there. Good luck to the next guy who would use that fountain.
Most people value their own opinion above others. People judge others so quickly with their own opinions, which easily creates conflict and confusion between each other. People would call other people things and would decide who they are without getting to know them.
There are also others who value the opinion of others above theirs. They trust the judgment of others fearing that they are wrong. They believe that their beliefs and opinions are misguided. They don’t want the disapproval of other people. For them, being liked by other people matters more to them than the freedom of expressing their opinions.
Which of the two are you? Do you value your judgment or do you let others’ opinion outshine yours? Me? I am the former.
Having my own opinion is what makes me unique. But because it is my own opinion, I don’t force it to the throats of other people. I don’t want the same thing to happen to me. Usually, my opinion works but only to people who share the same thoughts as me or kinda just like me.
For me, I believe that nobody’s opinion is more important than the opinion of others. Well, except if the person is more informed about the topic compared to the rest. What I mean is a super informed guy. Someone who really knows a lot about something. For instance, the opinion of a doctor about a certain sickness holds weight over the opinion of a person who only based his belief on hearsays.
In the end, all I can say that not all opinions are created equally.
